Cumbria Way Accommodation Guide
The Cumbria Way is one of the shorter National Trails at just under 73 miles long. Despite the miles it still manages to inspire as it follows a course though the heart of the Lake District National Park. Beginning in the beautiful lakeland village of Ulverston the walk goes north, initially threading its way through lush farmland before climbing to the heights of the Lakes with romantic places such as Coniston, Elterwater, Rosthwaite and Swinside en route to Keswich with north lakeland beyond. After alternative routes from Keswick the path becomes single again and descends from the Lake district fells to cross more lovely farmland on a final triumphal entrance into historic Carlisle. Due to its length the Cumbria Way is a perfect option to take if wanting to complete a long distance path within a week.
