North York Moors Accommodation Guide

This is where it all started, my first walks being on the fringes of the North York Moors close to Osmotherley, a village renowned as being the starting place of the fantastic Lyke Wake Walk Challenge. The North York Moors offer miules and miles of idyllic walking and while not having the towering peaks of the Lake District or the limestone pavements of the Yorkshire Dales what they do offer are expanses of open moorland with romantic settings abounding in the park. There is Goathland in the east, home of TV series Heartbeat and Thirsk, home of James Herriot of All Creatures Great and Small fame. For natural features here is Sutton Bank, the Hole of Horcum or the stunning Yorkshire coastline including Whitby and Scarborough. The North York Moors are so special.
