The Pennine Way is a long & tough walk to complete. It certainly tests long distance walkers stamina and endurance throughout 270 miles of elevated walking along the spine of Great Britain. The walk starts from the south extreme of the Pennines at Edale in the Peak District before heading north over the South Pennines then into the Yorkshire Dales, up to the North Pennines and Northumberland and across the Cheviot Hills before finishing across the border at Kirk Yetholm in Scotland. History is everywhere on the course from the start at the Kinder Scout trespass to cultural Bronte Country and the industrial awe of man at Ribblehead Viaduct and then to disused lead mining sites before going even further back to the romans and Hadrian's Wall. For sure the Pennine way will keep you challenged but it will also always keep you interested along its magnificent way.
