Summary: The Mersey Way, as the name of this long distance footpath suggests, follows the River Mersey from Warrington in Cheshire to Liverpool, Merseyside. At 22 miles the Mersey Trail can be walked in one day as it often is as a charity or sponsorship challenge or more leisurely in over two days. The first part of the walk runs from Warrington to Widnes and passes through Paddington Meadows and Victoria Park. The second part of the walk runs from Widnes to the City of Liverpool and passes the Runcorn-Widnes Bridge and John Lennon airport before finishing at Garston.
