About my Walking Holidays guide There are many companies around which provide walking holidays. Most just do the logistics by identifying accommodation to suit your needs as well as providing details of a range of interesting walks in the area you choose. The majority of providers also cover many of the popular National Trails with the Pennine Way, Coast to Coast, South West Coast Path, Cotswold Way, Hadrians Wall, Dales Way and West Highland Way often featuring in their portfolio. The companies that do cover National Trails invariably plan all your accommodation for the stages you choose and most also provide a luggage transfer and baggage service between your accommodation so you have the opportunity to launder your gear and walk the trail in fresh clothing each day.Some companies are specialised. For example there are companies that cater for women only and one such company is featured in the list of companies in the left hand bar. Searching the web will surely find more ladies only walking providers. Other companies work in specific areas like Peak Tours and Foot Trails. Others will specialise in grades of walkers with some offering the challenging mountain walks with scrambling and rock climbing offered too while others will specialise in gentle rambles for families and mature walkers. You will need to look around all the providers to find exactly what you need. Less common, but also readily available are providers who offer guided walking. This is usually where an experienced and qualified walker will lead a group of walkers in a range of walkers in a specific area or more often along one of the National Trails or Long Distance Footpaths. My mission here is to provide a comprehensive directory of walking holiday providers with sections indicating their specialist provisions, be it a particular area, guided walking, type of walkers targetted, etc. Anyone organisation wishing to be included in the directory can contact me for inclusion on these pages.
