Summary
The Cown Edge Way starts at Hazel Grove and heads east toward Marple along the Macclesfield and Peak Forest Canal. After leaving the canal towpath, the walk ascends to Cown Edge via Hollywood End. The path continues on high ground along Cown Edge Rocks and Coombes Edge Rocks, where there are splendid views of Stockport to the east and the Peak District to the south and west. At Coombe Edge, the route turns west toward Charlesworth before taking you over the River Etherow to Werneth Low and on to the finish point at Gee Cross.
