Summary: The Downs Link is an approximately 36 mile long shared route for walkers, horse riders and cyclists linking the North Downs Way with the South Downs Way. As well as linking the two National Trails the route extends southwards to the English Channel at Shoreham-by-Sea. From St Martha's Hill on the North Downs Way the Downs Link heads south over woodland, heathland and farmland to join and follow the route of the former Horsham and Guildford railway line through Cranleigh and then continue by the former Shoreham to Itchingfield Junction railway line through Partridge Green and Bramber, crossing farmland to meet the South Downs Way, and then continue on the extra spur on to Shoreham-by-Sea.
