Although England is the poor relation on the British Mainland in mountain scale there are still over 200 which reach over 2,000 feet (610 metres) in height. Most, including the 10 highest are located in the north western corner of the country within the Lake District National Park. Over 95% of them are in the north with the majority confined to the Lakes, North Pennines and Yorkshire Dales. Six more are on the border with Scotland in the Cheviot Hills and another six within the Howgill Fells. The North Midlands have just three within the Peak District National Park and the South West can claim just two, High Willhays and Yes Tor, both on Dartmoor.
